The UVT5500SS UV Water Disinfection System provides reliable, chemical-free protection for household and rural water supplies.
Ultraviolet light passes through the water inside the stainless-steel chamber, disrupting the DNA of harmful microorganisms and preventing them from reproducing. The system is designed to inactivate up to 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, including organisms such as E. coli, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
UV treatment does not add chemicals to the water or change its taste, odour or chemistry. The axial-flow chamber design provides effective disinfection within a compact footprint, while the single-ended lamp design allows for easier lamp replacement and quartz-sleeve servicing.
The electronic controller includes a lamp-failure alarm and lamp-replacement reminder with an LED countdown display. A visual lamp indicator also makes it easy to confirm that the UV lamp is operating.
Pre-filtration before a UV is essential to reduce sediment and suspended particles before the water reaches the UV chamber, to ensure effective UV exposure and helping keep the quartz sleeve cleaner.
