Filter Replacement and Callout

Purewater Products provides an on-site water filter replacement service.  We service all size filters, from small domestic to large industrial sized filters.  We can determine whether your filter cartridge needs replacing, and based on your needs we will advise on the most suitable filter to replace it with.

Our experienced service technician will:

  • Perform a complete check of your water filter system
  • Change your filter and adjust it to the correct flow rate
  • Flush the cartridge and check for leaks

Our extensive range of filter cartridges are interchangeable with most brands of water filters and purifiers on the market.  When you purchase a filter cartridge from Purewater Products NZ, we keep a database and send a reminder when your filter is due for replacement. Contact us regarding the price to change your filter.

Please note we are based in Hamilton, New Zealand and service the Waikato region (though we can service other areas, depending on the location).

Installation

Our trained and professional staff can install your water filtration system or plumbed water cooler for you.  While some of our products are sold as do-it-yourself kits, you may prefer to have it installed by one of our trained staff and have peace of mind that your water filter is installed correctly and will be covered by the full warranty.

Note that, if you’re outside the Waikato region it’s usually more cost-effective to get a local plumber to install your water purifier.

Reverse Osmosis Servicing

Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems need to be serviced at least on an annual basis. Domestic RO systems require the pre- and post-filters to be changed yearly (if they are not bacteriostatic, or bacteria-inhibiting).  The membrane (and storage tank if it is not a sealed unit) requires backwashing and sanitising annually to maintain their efficiency and pure quality.  Some larger commercial RO systems require more regular servicing.

We can service all types of RO units, from the compact residential RO to the large multi-membrane industrial size.  These services can be performed on-site by our trained and experienced service technicians.

Please contact us for pricing to service your RO unit.

Rural/Farm Filter Servicing

Purewater Products offers an experienced rural and farm filter service.  We service a wide range of rural and farm filtration systems including iron removal systems, water softeners and neutralisers, nitrate removal filters, reverse omsosis units and Ultraviolet Sterilisation purifiers.  We also service carbon and sediment filters for both single tap and whole house filtration.  This servicing includes trouble shooting and repair of systems not operationg corrrectly, as well as filter replacement and the servicing of high flow tanks.

Please note we are only able to offer this service to the Waikato region and outlying areas.  Contact us to enquire further about rural filtration servicing and your particular requirements.

Water Testing

We offer a full and independent rural water testing service for rain, bore, spring and stream water. This includes testing minerals, pH levels, water hardness and bacteria.

We will provide a copy of the water test results and advice on treatment requirements. We are then able to provide a quote for the filtration system recommended.  Please note we do not test town water supplies. Information on town/city  water treatment can usually be obtained from your local city or district council.

Please contact us prior to sending or bringing in a water sample for testing as a lab container is required to collect your sample with special instructions for collection and delivery provided.  We are able to courier out this container or you can collect one fron our Barton Street store.  If you have already had a water test analysis, you can fax or email us with the results and we will advise you on possible treatment solutions.

If you have any Bore Water issues or wish to check the purity of your Bore water we always recommend a water test be taken before treating the water supply.  This ensures we can accurately assess the Bore water quality and make the most suitable recommendation.

The procedure for taking a Bore water sample for testing is outlined below.

  • Take a container such as a 1 litre empty plastic milk container and wash thoroughly out to ensure it is clean
  • To take the sample, use an outside tap or water source point as close to the bore as possible
  • Turn the tap on with a good flow, or allow the water from where you are taking the sample,  to run to waste for at least two minutes
  • Use this water to rinse your container before taking the sample
  • Reduce water pressure before the sample is taken (to prevent excessive splashing and getting air into the container)
  • Holding the bottle near the base with one hand, fill the bottle slowly to within 2.5cm (1 inch) of the top
  • Replace the cap immediately and secure tightly to prevent spillage

Please note:

  • The water sample should be taken in the morning and dropped off or couriered to us that same morning to allow for testing to begin that day
  • If you suspect bacterial contamination of your Bore water and would like microbiological analyses done, you must provide a second sample in a separate sterile   collection bottle (Contact us if you require a sterile collection bottle.)

Specialist Filtration

Purewater Products NZ can provide professional advice and equipment for most specialist applications, from medical laboratories and factories through to water supplies for the whole community.
Water treatment for specialist applications by nature can be very complex and diverse, since they are dependent on a number of variables that are specific to the water supply, circumstances and requirements of that particular specialist area.
For that reason, we treat each scenario on an individual basis to suit your requirements and specifications.  Contact us to discuss your specialist filtration needs and enable us to supply the correct water treatment system.

Some of these specialist applications and their benefits include:

  • Production of ultra pure water
  • Fine and sub-micron filtration
  • Chlorine and chemical removal in process water
  • Reverse Osmosis and Deionisers
  • Ultra Violet Disinfection to kill harmful bacteria & viruses
  • Water Softeners to corect water harness
  • pH Correction with high flow tanks using neutralising media
Please contact us for more information on any of these specialist applications.

Water Cooler Cleaning & Repairs

Water Cooler Cleaning

All water coolers require regular sanitising. The water purifier removes chemicals and the chlorine added to your water supply to disinfect your water. However, it is important to keep the water storage bottle and stainless steel reservoir hygienically clean to prevent bacterial contamination and algae growth.

We recommend that bottle-type water coolers be cleaned and sanitised every 3 months to prevent contamination occurring, or even 2 months in some situations. Inline water coolers can be cleaned and sanitised on a 6 monthly basis as they have no bottle that requires cleaning.  We follow a very strict cleaning and sanitising protocol, cleaning the cooler on the outside as well as the inside with special brushes to remove any algae.

With our scheduling system, we clean and sanitise your water cooler on a regular basis.  Please note you are only charged after each service  no fixed term contracts or forward payments are required.
